OFFICERS
Deacons
Purpose/Mission:
To be servants for the church, as disciples of Jesus Christ.
Focal Scripture:
1 Timothy 3:8-13 8 Likewise deacons must be reverent, not double-tongued, not given to much wine, not greedy for money, 9 holding the mystery of the faith with a pure conscience. 10 But let these also first be tested; then let them serve as deacons, being found blameless. 11 Likewise their wives must be reverent, not slanderers, temperate, faithful in all things. 12 Let deacons be the husbands of one wife, ruling their children and their own houses well. 13 For those who have served well as deacons obtain for themselves a good standing and great boldness in the faith which is in Christ Jesus.
Deaconess
Purpose/Mission:
To faithfully serve the church along with the Pastor and Deacons by: visiting the sick with the Deacons, assisting female candidates for Baptism, taking care of the Communion table and linens, and taking care of designated matters related to the females in the church.

Romans 16:1-2 1 I commend to you Phoebe our sister, who is a servant of the church in Cenchrea, 2 that you may receive her in the Lord in a manner worthy of the saints, and assist her in whatever business she has need of you; for indeed she has been a helper of many and of myself also.

Trustees
Purpose/Mission:
To be a good steward over the church property and finances in a way that will bring glory and honor to the Lord.

Luke 12:42 And the Lord said, “Who then is that faithful and wise steward, whom his master will make ruler over his household, to give them their portion of food in due season?
Audio Visual Ministry
Purpose/Mission:
A supportive ministry that contributes to evangelizing, worship reinforcement, and affecting positive change in members and the community through the distribution of gospel media.
Focal Scripture:
Galatians 6:6 Let him who is taught the word share in all good things with him who teaches.
Bible Study Ministry
Purpose/Mission:
Our purpose is to educate, train and equip believers to understand the Holy written Word of God, thereby, preparing them to share its message of Hope, Healing, and Salvation. Our mission is to make disciples and building up the Kingdom here on earth to the glory of Almighty God.

Children’s Church Ministry
Purpose/Mission:
Our purpose is to be obedient to God’s commandment as for the spiritual welfare of the children, display our love to and for God so that His glory will be shown unto others.
Focal Scripture:
Proverbs 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it.
Christian Education Ministry
Purpose/Mission:
To sow seeds that reap Christian discipleship and spiritual growth through the education and application of God’s Holy Word. Our educating, teaching and support ministry is dedicated to: Helping people become believers. Helping believers discover their spiritual gifts, their place of ministry, their calling, and to become mature in Christ. Helping equip believers for Christian service.

Ephesians 4:11-13 11 And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, 12 for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, 13 till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ;
Christian Orientation Ministry
Purpose/Mission:
To educate others in the topics of salvation, baptism, Holy Communion, church covenant, church membership and Baptist beliefs.

Combined Choir Ministry
Purpose/Mission:
To provide music and song selections which spiritually enhances our worship and praise experience.

Psalm 30:4 Sing praise to the LORD, You saints of His, And give thanks at the remembrance of His holy name.
Health Ministry
Purpose/Mission:
To provide information to the congregation and community on health-related issues; offer workshops focused on specific health topics; partner with agencies to provide free heath screenings; assist our congregation, particularly Seniors, with health insurance changes; network with local community organizations and churches.

1 Corinthians 6:19-20 19 Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?
20 For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.
Hospitality Ministry
Purpose/Mission:
Our purpose is to be obedient to God’s Word in having fervent love and being hospitable to all (believers and non-believers in Christ Jesus).
Focal Scripture:
1 Peter 4:8-9 8 And above all things have fervent love for one another, for “love will cover a multitude of sins.” 9 Be hospitable to one another without grumbling.
Intercessory Prayer Ministry
Purpose/Mission:
To intercede and give petition requests to our sovereign and righteous God, through prayers and supplications, on behalf of our church family, our community, our nation and the world.
Focal Scripture:
Philippians 4:6-7 6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; 7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Male Chorus Ministry
Purpose/Mission:
To serve as a support group to enhance the worship experience of our congregation, to spread the Gospel through songs, and to provide a unique fellowship between the men of our church.
Focal Scripture:
Psalm 40:3 He has put a new song in my mouth– Praise to our God; Many will see it and fear, And will trust in the LORD.
Men’s Ministry
Purpose/Mission:
To arm and restore men for service (A.R.M.S) with no man left behind.
Focal Scripture:
Psalm 133:1 Behold, how good and how pleasant it is For brethren to dwell together in unity!
Missionaries & Mothers Ministry
Purpose/Mission:
To be true, active servants and laborers of the Lord as Ambassadors for Christ. For we are the links.

Psalm 116:16 O LORD, truly I am Your servant; I am Your servant, the son of Your maidservant; You have loosed my bonds.
Pastor’s Aide
Purpose/Mission:
We support and assist in meeting the Pastor’s needs in any way we can for the cause of Christ as he strives to carry out his divine charge.

Scholarship Ministry
Purpose/Mission:
Assist family and youth who are active members of Rock of Ages with higher education expenses by raising funds; provide information and materials for educating children and their parents on what steps to take for college preparation.

Sunday School Ministry
Purpose/Mission:
To teach the Holy Scriptures in a way that an individual can mature spiritually.

Transportation Ministry
Purpose/Mission:
To provide transportation for members and/or guest passengers to worship services and other related church activities.

Colossians 3:17 And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.
Ushers, Senior & Junior Ministry
Purpose/Mission:
To obtain spiritual growth through education and training by instructors and with God’s help, maintain a decent and orderly way of ushering in the house of God.
Focal Scripture:
Psalm 84:10 For a day in Your courts is better than a thousand. I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God Than dwell in the tents of wickedness.
Vacation Bible School Ministry
Purpose/Mission:
(VBS) is designed as an outreach ministry to share the Good News of Jesus Christ to the community as well as ROA members, so that summertime activities include increased daily worship.

Willing Workers Ministry
Purpose/Mission:
To assist the Pastor and other ministries of the church in performing their ministry duties.

Galatians 6:9 And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.
